• Location: Arlington Heights, IL 60005 (Chicago area nursing jobs)\n
• Healthcare Setting: Labor & Delivery Unit\n
• Employment Type: Travel RN Contract\n
• Start Date: January 11, 2026\n
• End Date: April 11, 2026\n
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks\n
• Nursing Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)\n
• Hours per Week: 36\n
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, every 3rd weekend (mix of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday)\n
• Holiday Requirement: None\n
• Floating: Rare (post-partum only)\n
• Dress Code: Hospital-issued surgical scrubs\n
• Orientation: 1 day on the floor and 1 day in the OR (day shift)\n

\n\nLabor & Delivery RN Qualifications\n

\n
• Active Illinois Registered Nurse license\n
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience\n
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification\n
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification\n
• Basic Fetal Monitoring competency within the last 2 years\n
• Experience with Epic EMR preferred\n

\n\nLabor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities\n

\n
• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns\n
• Perform and interpret Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM)\n
• Utilize fetal scalp electrodes and intrauterine pressure catheters (IUPC)\n
• Operate IV pumps, infusion devices, and epidural infusion pumps\n
• Monitor maternal vital signs and conduct newborn assessments\n
• Respond to obstetric emergencies using appropriate emergency equipment\n
• Conduct bedside point-of-care testing (glucose, urine)\n
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including OB techs and support staff\n
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Epic EMR\n
